Just a quick update on what weve been up to in recent months.
• Back in December Indy set up a KP base in the Midlands and the move has been going so well that were now working with:
• Fierce Earth on a national initiative called Elemental which is solely funded by Arts Council England National Office. Elemental is looking at how best to take the Street Art and Circus sectors forward through events all around the country. Its been great to work with Helga Henry from Fierce over the past few months.
• Capsule are a well recognised organisation delivering extremely high quality work, festivals and events. Their Supersonic 09 festival is what were involved with and so far its been great working with the Capsule girls, Lisa and Jenny.
• The New Art Exchange based in Nottingham has been around for years but last year they moved into a swanky new building right in the heart of the community. Its a beautifully crafted building with an even more dynamic programme from exhibitions, film, events and this year, the celebration of their Mela which is 21yrs old. With Mela 21 were helping to shape the educational programme.
Back in our South East office……..work continues on Rising Styles which is running from 1-4 October 09. Moving it from July is a new thing for us, but as a team we wanted to try something new in our 6th year. We really hope to see loads more people there this year – our lineup will be announced in the next few months.
Our MI21 (Mother India 21st Century Remix), live film score project has gone from strength to strength and will be touring in UK venues and festivals later this year. Its been a monumentous time for Kala Phool with this project but were so pleased nothing is spoiling our journey 🙂 We hope you will beable to catch a show – dates will be announced soon. Our artist management, strategic development and advocacy arms are going well. All are intertwined and incredibly rewarding. We’d like to hear from you if you have any opinions, want further info or just want to connect. Dont be shy….go to our contact page and get in touch…you know you wanna 😉 Best wishes, Indy & the rest of Kala Phool.
